Central Park Tower Topped Out

A construction lift going up 1,500 or so feet takes some time getting to its destination.  But, as the saying goes, getting there is half the fun. (Plus, you do get to see Manhattan from a lot of different perspectives on the way up, something you normally wouldn’t have the chance to have.)  On August 21st I had the opportunity to take that ride as Central Park Tower (CPT) had its official topping-out ceremony, attended by many of the people who are working on the building, from constructors to designers and developers.

Central Park Tower is the tallest residential tower in the world and has the highest rooftop deck in the Western Hemisphere.   Located at 217 West 57th Street on a strip often referred to as Billionaire’s Row, its height and location afford it some of the most dramatic views of Manhattan – East Side, West Side, Uptown, and Downtown, and Central Park. When completed, it will house 179 of the most exclusive residence in New York; along with 50,000 square feet of amenities; and Nordstrom’s New York flagship store.

The Clarient Group is part of the team involved in the project providing technology consulting and design services, including IT infrastructure, AV, network, voice, DAS, WiFi, and security systems.  We are proud to be working along some of the best in the business including Extell Development, developer; Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, architects;  WSP, structural engineer; Langan Engineering and Environmental Services, civil, environmental, and geotechnical engineers; Lendlease, construction manager, along with all the sub-contractors and other team members.

The next time I get this far off the ground, I will probably be flying the friendly skies.
