VI. What are cookies?
Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard internet log information and visitor behavior information. When you visit our websites, we may collect information from you automatically through cookies or similar technology. For further information, visit allaboutcookies.org.
VII. How do we use cookies and other tools?
CannonDesign uses cookies in a range of ways to improve your experience on our website, including:
- Understanding how you use our Sites
- Analyzing performance of our Sites and addressing technical issues
- Advertising and marketing
Some web browsers (including Safari, Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome) incorporate a “Do Not Track” (“DNT”) or similar feature that signals to websites that a user does not want to have his or her online activity and behavior tracked. If a website that responds to a particular DNT signal receives the DNT signal, the browser can block that website from collecting certain information about the browser’s user. Not all browsers offer a DNT option and DNT signals are not yet uniform. For this reason, many digital service operators, including CannonDesign, do not recognize or respond to DNT signals.
VIII. What types of cookies do we use?
There are a number of different types of cookies that our Sites use:
- Functionality—CannonDesign uses these cookies so that we recognize you on our Sites and remember your previously selected preferences. These could include what language you prefer and location you are in. A mix of first-party and third-party cookies are used.
- Advertising—CannonDesign uses these cookies to collect information about your visit to our Sites, the content you viewed, the links you followed, and information about your browser, device, and IP address. CannonDesign sometimes shares some limited aspects of this data with third parties for advertising purposes. We may also share online data collected through cookies with our advertising partners. This means that when you visit another website, you may be shown advertising based on your browsing patterns on our Sites.
IX. How can I manage cookies?
You may opt-out of our use of cookies by interacting with the banner displayed on our Sites. Additionally, you can set your browser not to accept cookies. However, in a few cases, some of our website features may not function as a result.
