PROJECT PROFILE
The Clarient Group was retained by Northwell Health to provide IT design services for the modernization of the Cancer Center at Staten Island University Hospital.
The Cancer Center project scope consists of interior renovations of portions of the existing First and Second Floors of the radiation oncology wing. The spaces will include an Interventional Radiology Suite, Coronary Care Unit (CCU) Suite, and OR Recovery Suite, among other spaces. A proposed Third Floor vertical expansion of 13,450 square feet will connect to the existing ‘tower building’ at the Third Floor and will contain a CardioThoracic Suite, among other spaces.
The Ground Floor, which contains the existing LINAC’s and HDR, will house all Radiation Oncology services and support, while also containing the main entrance and intake functions for the combined cancer center programs. The Second Floor will be renovated to contain medical oncology exam/ consult rooms, administration and research and education functions. A new Third Floor will be built to contain an adult chemotherapy and infusion center; it will also contain a new satellite pharmacy specifically for hazardous (USP :800) and sterile compounding (USP :797) and all required support spaces. This satellite pharmacy and compounding suite will serve the cancer center as well as the rest of the hospital.
