PROJECT PROFILE
Wildflower Ltd. is currently developing a 760,000 square foot studio facility for production of motion pictures and other video content. It is located on 19th Avenue in the Ditmars-Steinway neighborhood of Queens and is adjacent to Steinway Creek and the Steinway Piano building. The building will house a total of eleven 18,000 square foot large span stages with the dimensions of 150 feet long x 120 feet long x 60 feet high. Each studio module consists of the large span stage, vertical transportation, and production support spaces such as scene shops and dressing rooms.
The building also contains one floor of offices for the production companies. Large openings in the warehouse bring daylight into the central street and create a communal terrace for the actors, production crews, producers, screenwriters etc. The facility will also include amenities such as a café, a commissary, and fitness center to serve the people working in the building. The development will also include parking for cars and loading docks for trucks. With all these elements, the building will become a self-contained creative village with all the logistical, technical, and social necessities to satisfy the needs of the filmmaking industry.
The project currently has 100% Construction Documents ready for bidding. Wildflower has approached The Clarient Group to perform a peer review of the technology systems that were designed – including structured cabling, audiovisual, security, data/voice network, and wireless. The Clarient Group will also provide input on additional technologies for consideration such as cellular DAS, CBRS, two-way radio, and data services. The Clarient Group will review the designs to identify efficiencies where possible.
The Clarient Group will also discuss opportunities to gain efficiencies and to enable future technology enhancements by integrating the building systems onto a common technology platform.
